The past couple of years has seen a surge of hip new cafes opening up. The “best” is a highly debated topic among locals, and I guess its a matter of taste… but in any case, you can be sure to get a decent cup in any of the below establishments. (No disappointing, airy milk foam on your cappuccino!).
You can never have too much good coffee, so why not give them all a try!
Everyday People Coffee
Newly opened in 2024, Everyday People is the café locals have been waiting for. With super hospitable owners who have opened and run cafes in Melbourne and London, they know what they are doing. As one of them is a designer, the interior is also on point. Their prices are great (≈2.50€ for a cappuccino/flat white) they don’t charge extra for oat milk (tick), plus serve their coffees in sustainable cups (tick, tick). They also have tasty brunch menu including vegan and vego goodies.
If on foot, its just a short walk from the Lagos Marina. If coming by car, there is plenty of free parking around the café.

Twin Fin Lagos
With an Australian owner, Twin Fin know how to make a great coffee Lagos. Their Espresso Martini is pretty good too! They have milk alternatives and probably the best home-made banana bread in town.
They are open all day – from 8:30 am til midnight, so no matter when your craving hits, they have you covered. They also serve meals including hearty brunches, burgers, salads and a range of craft beers and cocktails

Abigail’s Cafe
Although Abigail’s specialises in smoothies and beach bowls, their coffee is pretty good too. Their focus is healthy eating and offer an array of colourful bowls loaded with Açai and fruits as well as some other brunch meals. A relaxed atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating, on your way to Batata Beach.

Black and White
At Black and White, its clear they are serious about coffee. Their swoon worthy instagram feed will definitely have you craving a cup.
The friendly South African owners always greet you with a smile and it seems they are as passionate about making people happy as they are about coffee. Their first location (opened in 2019) was full of style with its clean oak and marble interior, paired with linen cushions for a comfortable, relaxed vibe. In 2021 they opened a bigger and even more stylish location. Its a bright and aesthetic space to start the day (or stop at any time of the day).

Coffee & Waves
With its pale pink coffee cups, pastel coloured interior and in-house made surfboard collection, this place is quite an instagram hit.
They offer everything you can expect on a hipster cafe menu: Acai bowls, Smashed avocado and egg on toast, loaded granola bowls and vegan cakes. They have an eye for design and that special talent for making everything aesthetically pleasing.
The cafe doubles as a shop for some local designer goodies & surfboards, and also hosts the owners surf-board making studio downstairs.
Its quite small and unfortunately no outdoor seating, but a good place for grabbing a coffee or something to eat on your way to the beach.
